Welcome back to the TennisConnected Podcast for 2016!
With lots to cover in this week’s show, we wrap up all the action from Indian Wells, and look forward to the respective men’s and women’s draws in Miami. Will Novak Djokovic cap off yet another double header in 2016 by winning in Key Biscayne and California, or will Roger Federer’s return to action prove to be troubling for the Serb? How about Serena Williams? After her loss to Vika Azarenka in Indian Wells, how motivated will the American star be in Florida to capture her first title of the season?
As always, you can alternatively listen to the #1 tennis PodCast via iTunes and never miss another episode. It is very easy and completely free.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy this podcast but one thing that is bothersome is that I always hear criticism of the other WTA players when discussing Serena’s dominance but I don’t hear similar criticism of the other ATP players when discussing Djokovic’s dominance. If you’re going to talk about the lack of challengers to Serena on the WTA, you have to talk about the lack of challengers to Djokovic on the ATP.
Amy Bee, I certainly hear what you’re saying and I totally agree. However, I believe that in this podcast I did say that Djokovic doesn’t have a lot of competition as Nadal and Federer are getting older; Murray hasn’t improved his game and Stan is not as consistent. Then there are younger players with promise that still need to improve. All in all, Djokovic doesn’t have a lot of competition right now.
Nadal is only 1 year older than Novak….
