Odds of an English Grand Slam Winner in 2025
The tennis season is set to heat up as the tour shifts into Grand Slam gear, with the French Open getting underway at Roland Garros in late May.
That leads straight into the iconic grass-court swing, culminating in Wimbledon at the end of June. This year, for the first time in a while, there are genuine home-country contenders on both the men’s and women’s sides, giving English fans real reason to believe.
New York City plays host to the year’s final major, as Emma Raducanu returns to the scene of her stunning US Open triumph in 2021. But England’s best hope of a Grand Slam champion in 2025 may well be Jack Draper, one of four contenders whose chances we break down below.
Jack Draper
Draper has shot up to number six in the world rankings after a stellar eight months. The Londoner reached the US Open semi-finals in 2024, eclipsing his previous best Grand Slam performance by two rounds.
He underlined his growing reputation on tour in March 2025 by capturing the title at Indian Wells, one of the sport’s most prestigious events outside the majors.
Clay is not a surface that Draper has had much joy on, and that is reflected in his odds of up to 50/1 with some firms for the French Open. At Wimbledon, however, he is as short as 8/1 with Ladbrokes.
The most appealing wager might be 18/1 for the US Open. Draper’s biggest wins have come on hard courts in the States, and if he continues on this upward trend, he may go off at a significantly skinnier price than that.
Cameron Norrie
It has been a difficult couple of years for Cameron Norrie, once a world number eight but now outside the top 80.
He is unlikely to be among the outright selections when tennis predictions from FIRST.com are published ahead of any of the Grand Slams.
If he is going to succeed at any of them, it would most likely be at Wimbledon, where he made the semis in 2022. Norrie is at 66/1 to win at SW19.
Katie Boulter
Far from a clay specialist, Katie Boulter is a long shot for the French Open, but she is not to be ruled out at the other Grand Slams, especially Wimbledon.
Seeded #32 at the All England Club a year ago, Boulter lost a thrilling second-round match against compatriot Harriet Dart. She is generally priced at 50/1 to spring a surprise on home turf this summer.
She is a triple-figure chance at the US Open, where she did make the third round in 2023.
Emma Raducanu
Raducanu has not won a match at Flushing Meadows since winning the US Open four years ago, but remains respected at 25/1 with some bookmakers in the outright market.
She is even higher up the wagering board for Wimbledon, where she has twice made the fourth round, including in 2024.
A quarter-final appearance in Miami offered encouragement for Raducanu fans after a tough start to the year.
