Jannik Sinner Leads Tennis Prize Money Rankings in 2026, Earning an Incredible $1,611 Per Minute on Court

Sinner, Sabalenka Top Tennis Earnings-Per-Minute Rankings Following Roland Garros 2026

As the 2026 tennis season moves through its midway point, the sport’s biggest stars are not only collecting trophies but also generating remarkable financial returns every time they step onto the court.

New research compiled by Betway, using data from Tennis Abstract and official ATP and WTA prize money statistics, reveals which tennis players have earned the most prize money per minute played during the 2026 season.

Leading the way is world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, who has earned an astonishing $1,611 per minute on court this year, while women’s world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka tops the WTA rankings at $1,390 per minute.

Jannik Sinner Dominates ATP Earnings Per Minute Rankings

Despite falling short of capturing the French Open title, Sinner has enjoyed one of the most successful seasons in recent ATP Tour history.

The Italian has amassed $6,853,344 in prize money while spending 4,255 minutes on court, resulting in the highest earnings-per-minute figure among all men’s players.

Sinner’s remarkable season has been fueled by victories at multiple ATP Masters 1000 events and consistent deep runs throughout the calendar.

Top ATP Earners Per Minute in 2026

Rank Player Prize Money Earnings Per Minute
1 Jannik Sinner $6,853,344 $1,611
2 Carlos Alcaraz $4,365,354 $1,436
3 Alexander Zverev $6,344,797 $1,149
4 Novak Djokovic $1,795,761 $813
5 Flavio Cobolli $3,144,274 $745

Carlos Alcaraz Remains Close Behind

World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz ranks second among ATP players, earning $1,436 per minute played.

The Spaniard’s total could have been even higher had injuries not interrupted portions of his season. Nevertheless, his Australian Open triumph and consistent performances have kept him among the sport’s top earners.

Alexander Zverev Breaks the $1,000 Barrier

Fresh off his Roland Garros title run, Alexander Zverev is the only other male player to exceed the $1,000-per-minute mark.

The German has accumulated $6.34 million in prize money, translating to $1,149 per minute, highlighting the financial rewards of winning Grand Slam titles and consistently reaching the latter stages of major tournaments.

Rising Stars Making Financial Moves

Several younger players have enjoyed breakout campaigns in 2026:

  • Flavio Cobolli ranks fifth overall at $745 per minute.
  • Arthur Fils sits sixth at $692 per minute.
  • Matteo Arnaldi cracks the top ten at $555 per minute.
  • Jakub Mensik ranks 14th among ATP players.

Meanwhile, Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime ranks 13th, earning approximately $500 per minute played through the first half of the season.

Aryna Sabalenka Leads WTA Prize Money Efficiency Rankings

On the women’s side, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka has been equally dominant.

The Belarusian has earned $4,615,986 in prize money while spending 3,322 minutes on court, resulting in a remarkable $1,390 earned per minute.

Her consistency at Grand Slam events and WTA 1000 tournaments has helped establish her as the most financially efficient player on the WTA Tour in 2026.

Top WTA Earners Per Minute in 2026

Rank Player Prize Money Earnings Per Minute
1 Aryna Sabalenka $4,615,986 $1,390
2 Mirra Andreeva $5,393,301 $1,176
3 Elena Rybakina $4,361,140 $1,111
4 Maja Chwalinska $1,747,849 $1,034
5 Marta Kostyuk $2,269,048 $904

Mirra Andreeva’s French Open Triumph Pays Off

French Open champion Mirra Andreeva ranks second among women at $1,176 per minute.

The teenager’s breakthrough Grand Slam victory significantly boosted her earnings and further cemented her place among the elite players on tour.

Maja Chwalinska Delivers Maximum Efficiency

One of the most surprising names near the top of the list is Maja Chwalinska.

The Polish star spent just 1,690 minutes on court, among the lowest totals in the study, yet still generated more than $1,000 per minute thanks to a sensational Roland Garros campaign.

Strong American Representation

The United States remains well represented among the WTA’s top earners per minute.

Notable names include:

  • Jessica Pegula
  • Coco Gauff
  • Amanda Anisimova

Canadian rising star Victoria Mboko also appears inside the top 20, ranking 17th overall after a breakthrough season.

What Earnings Per Minute Tell Us About Modern Tennis

While total prize money remains the traditional benchmark for measuring financial success in tennis, earnings-per-minute provide a unique perspective on player efficiency.

The metric rewards players who:

  • Win tournaments consistently.
  • Advance deep into major events.
  • Avoid lengthy early-round matches.
  • Convert court time into maximum prize money.

It also highlights how Grand Slam victories and Masters 1000 titles can dramatically increase a player’s financial return over a relatively short period.

For players such as Sinner, Sabalenka, Alcaraz, and Zverev, 2026 has proven that elite-level performance continues to deliver elite-level rewards.

Methodology

Betway analyzed:

  • Total minutes played during all tour-level singles matches in 2026.
  • Official ATP and WTA singles prize money earnings.
  • Match duration data sourced from Tennis Abstract.

Each player’s total prize money was divided by their total minutes spent on court to determine earnings per minute.

Data is accurate through the conclusion of Roland Garros on June 8, 2026.
