Thursday’s action at Wimbledon featured last year’s finalist Ons Jabeur advancing to another final, ousting No. 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-3.
Jabeur, who will take part in her third Major final on Saturday, will next face former French Open finalist Marketa Vondrousovsa. The Czech star defeated tournament favourite Elina Svitolina 6-3, 6-1 in one hour and 15 minutes.
Jabeur and Vondrousovsa will contest their seventh career encounter on Saturday. The pair have currently split their previous six meetings.
Friday’s schedule of play at Wimbledon will highlight the men’s semifinals. No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic will face No. 8 seed Jannik Sinner and top seed Carlos Alcaraz will take on former US Open winner Daniil Medvedev.
