How to Spend the Time Before Wimbledon

As a tennis fan, you might find that there are several related events a year that you look forward to, with Wimbledon being one of them. However, with its place at the height of summer, waiting for this can often mean slogging through the colder and darker months at the start of the year, meaning it isn’t only the lack of tennis content that you have to put up with, but also the low mood that can come with this season.

Fortunately, this time doesn’t have to be such a slog, and you might find that there are several ways to spend it that allow you to enjoy your interest in the sport in ways that you didn’t expect, meaning that your anticipation should be sky high when the tournament finally rolls around.

  • Play the Game Yourself

If fresh tennis content is what you’re looking for, there’s no reason that you can’t be the one to create that content yourself, by simply playing the game. All you need to do is find a local court, and a friend to play with, and you can get started. Not only does this give you a way to engage with a sport that you like, but it’s also a great form of exercise, and you might find that doing this regularly enough gives you a way to work out that you’re otherwise lacking. It never hurts to have new ways to have fun, especially when they have the added benefit of being good for you.

  • Travel to the Other Tournaments

Without proper planning, it’s not easy to simply spontaneously go to a grand slam tennis tournament, but you might find that it’s a move that satiates your tennis appetite while you wait for Wimbledon. With the Australian Open in January, your next bet comes in May or June, with the French Open. There is quite the gap between these two, which you might find a difficult time, but it could also give you enough time to adequately prepare for the spring and summer tournaments in terms of travel and accommodation. Even the travel here is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the sport, by looking at player stats or previous tournament results. Alternatively, this could simply be a time to relax with games or by visiting an online casino, all of which are available on your phone.

  • Take a Short Break

Alternatively, you might find that the best way to drum up anticipation ahead of the big grand slam tournaments is to move in the opposite direction, taking a temporary step back from the sport. Engaging with this hobby as much as you possibly can for months on end might simply burn you out, and you want to be excited for Wimbledon when it’s around the corner, and taking a break now might mean that it feels fresh again when the summer finally rolls around.

This can also give you enough time to engage with your other hobbies, as they’ll likely be put on the backburner when summer does finally arrive.
