(FILA GLOBAL) – FILA has teamed up with 2013 Wimbledon Champion, Marion Bartoli, to create a limited-edition spring 2016 tennis collection. The collaboration, dubbed LOVE FILA BY MARION BARTOLI, features a range of women’s court-ready chic styles, bringing a touch of high-end fashion to the game.

“FILA continues its commitment to designing innovative apparel, with performance, sophistication and lifestyle appeal,” said Danny Lieberman, Senior Vice President of Apparel at FILA North America. “We are excited to collaborate with Marion Bartoli, a proven champion in her on and off-court endeavors, with a savvy business sense and a keen eye for design, art and fashion. The LOVE FILA BY MARION BARTOLI line offers truly one-of-a-kind tennis pieces that combine elements of our rich heritage with bold graphics, bright colors and beautiful fabrics, suitable for athletes and the fashion conscious alike.”

As a lifelong lover of style and sketching, Marion knew that beyond her athletic career, her future was fashion. FILA, a brand that has built a legacy on the fusion of sport and style, was the perfect match.

“To have my name next to the FILA name is incredible and I am grateful to FILA for this amazing opportunity,” said Marion Bartoli. “We bring out the best in each other and our shared passion for sport and style is evident in the line. I truly put all of my past experiences and who I am into this collection. I want every woman who wears LOVE FILA to feel strong and beautiful and unique.”

LOVE FILA BY MARION BARTOLI consists of the “Court Central Collection” and the “Trophee Collection.” Bartoli’s lifestyle played a large role in inspiring the strong aesthetic of the “Court Central Collection.” The line was built upon three identifiable themes, bringing together elements from Paris (Marion’s home), London (the site of Marion’s Wimbledon win) and Italy (FILA’s origins).

The range features seven styles, including dresses, bomber jackets, blazers, skirts, and tanks, highlighted by a vibrant color palette and the boldness of its prints. All pieces incorporate the dynasty green hue, allowing wearers to mix and match each item in the line. Marion utilized her artistic talents to paint the watercolor design featured on the Italy-themed “Court Central” dress. For an added personal touch, select pieces feature Marion’s signature tennis ball with smile and sunglasses graphic. Prices range from $120 for the Court Central Skort to $280 for the Court Central Jacket. FILA’s sponsored female athletes will wear pieces from the “Court Central Collection” at the French Open in Roland Garros.

The six-piece, all-white “Trophee Collection” includes a dress, a tank, two skorts, a blazer, and pants, incorporating details such as mesh inserts and a feminine flounce hem. Prices range from $120 for the Trophee Skort to $250 for the Trophee Blazer. FILA’s sponsored female athletes will wear pieces from the “Trophee Collection” at Wimbledon in London.

The LOVE FILA BY MARION BARTOLI line will be available beginning April 15, in the U.S. at FILA.com?, Bandier, Mason’s Tennis Mart, Pete Carlson’s Golf & Tennis, and the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and internationally at Harrods, Yoox Group, Wigmore Sports, Galeries Lafayette, Queens Club Pro Shop, Tennis Pro, Space 23, KaDeWe, FILA Brazil, FILA Argentina, FILA Korea, FILA Hong Kong, FILA China, FILA EU, and FILA UK, with more retailers to be added.
