Federer Cruises to Ninth Halle Title over Zverev; Lopez Defeats Cilic for Queen’s Club Crown

Gerry Weber Open—Halle, Germany

Top seed Roger Federer cruised to this ninth title at the Gerry Weber Open on Sunday, dismantling Alexander Zverev 6-1, 6-3. Using his slice backhand to great effect, Federer needed only 53 minutes to collect his 92nd career title. Winning 93 percent of his first serve points and 50 percent of his second serve points, Federer broke serve on four occasions and never lost his own delivery. Improving to 2-1 against Zverev in lifetime meetings, Federer will now be ranked No. 3 heading into Wimbledon, behind Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic.

Zverev, who was looking for his fourth title of the season, continued to prove throughout the week that his overall game is suited to any surface on Tour.

Roger is on a roll and will win Wimbledon this year. No one can touch him on grass if he continues to play like this …. http://www.138mph.com/federer-rules-kvitova-excels/
