The Serb Faces Tomas Machac for a Place in the Finals
Top seed Novak Djokovic breezed into the semifinals of the Geneva Open on Thursday, defeating Tallon Griekspoor 7-5, 6-1.
Needing one hour and 18 minutes to progress, Djokovic hit nine winners, four aces and won 67 percent of his points at net.
The 37-year-old will next face Tomas Machac for a place in the finals. Machac dispatched Alex Michelsen 6-3, 7-6(2) earlier in the day.
Elsewhere, No. 2 seed Casper Ruud will be in action. The Norwegian will face No. 5 seed Sebastian Baez.
Djokovic will Take on Pierre-Hugues Herbert in his First Round Match in Paris
The world No. 1 already has his opponent for next week’s French Open. The defending champion will begins his campaign against Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert.
Djokovic will be joined in the draw by Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal.
Nadal, who is playing in his final French Open, faces a daunting opening round match against No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev.
