Nitto ATP Finals—London, Great Britain
No. 6 seed Grigor Dimitrov captured the biggest title of his career on Sunday in London, England, defeating No. 7 seed David Goffin 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 for the ATP Finals title. Needing two hours and 30 minutes to claim his win, Dimitrov overcame a 0-3 deficit in the first set to establish his form. Dropping the second set to a determined Goffin, Dimitrov claimed the title on his fifth match point after his opponent hit a backhand volley into the net.
Notching his fourth career crown, Dimitrov went 5-0 throughout the event and took home over $2.5 million for his efforts. Dimitrov will also finish the year No. 3, while Goffin will finish No. 7.
Goffin’s year is still not complete, the Belgian will also contest the Davis Cup final next weekend, heading his team against France.
