Dimitrov, Monfils, Wawrinka, Draper Receive Men’s Cincinnati Open Wild Cards
CINCINNATI (July 31, 2026) – Former Cincinnati Open champion Grigor Dimitrov, three-time Major champion Stan Wawrinka, British 24-year-old Jack Draper and fan favorite Gael Monfilswill receive main draw wild cards for the 2026 Cincinnati Open, taking place Aug. 8-23.
In addition, the tournament is awarding qualifying wild cards to locals JJ Wolf and Vignesh Gogineni as well as Kei Nishikori, Mackenzie McDonald and Darwin Blanch.
Dimitrov won the 2017 Cincinnati Open without dropping a set for his first ATP Masters 1000 crown. A former world No. 3 and 2017 Nitto ATP Finals champion, the 35-year-old Bulgarian has won a total of nine ATP titles.
With plans to retire at the end of 2026, Monfils will be making his farewell appearance in Cincinnati. The 13-time ATP champion climbed to a career-high ranking of world No. 6 and has made runs to the Roland Garros and US Open semifinals.
A three-time Major champion, Wawrinka has been ranked as high as No. 3 in the world and will also retire at the end of 2026. The 41-year-old Swiss owns 16 career titles and was a Cincinnati Open semifinalist in 2012 along with three quarterfinal appearances.
Draper was a 2024 US Open semifinalist and won Indian Wells in 2025 to ascend to No. 4 in the ATP Tour rankings. This year, he defeated Novak Djokovic en route to the Indian Wells quarterfinals and made the semifinals in Eastbourne.
Wolf reached his first ATP final at Florence in 2022 and owns five career Challenger titles. The 27-year-old local product is a Cincinnati Country Day School graduate and former Ohio State standout who was Big Ten Player of the Year as a junior.
Gogineni is a recent graduate from Yale where he earned All-Ivy League honors while playing No. 1 singles. The 22-year-old was the 2022 Ohio High School state champion after reaching the final in two previous years while also helping Mason High School to the 2019 state title.
Like Monfils and Wawrinka, Nishikori will make his final Cincinnati Open appearance with plans to retire after the 2026 season. The 36-year-old Japanese star is a former world No. 4 and the 2014 US Open finalist.
Former NCAA singles champion at UCLA and winner of four Challenger titles, McDonald will be making his fifth appearance in Cincinnati, having made a run to the round of 16 in 2023.
Blanch, an 18-year-old American, won his first ATP Masters 1000 match in Miami this year by defeating veteran Jan-Lennard Struff. He will be making his Cincinnati Open debut. He reached as high as No. 4 as a junior player.
