In a battle of big-servers, American Maxime Cressy captured his first ATP Tour on Sunday in Newport, Rhode Island, dispatching No. 3 seed Alexander Bublik 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(3).
In a match lasted two and 23 minutes, Cressy hit 14 aces, withstood 10 aces from Bublik and won 76 percent of his first serve points.
Known for his unique style of hitting two-first serves on every point, Cressy has had a great year, making the finals at the Melbourne tune up and most recently in Eastbourne prior to Wimbledon.
Bublik, who was searching for his second career title, dismissed home-country favourite Jason Kubler in the semifinals.
As a result of their efforts this week, Cressy will be ranked No. 33 on Monday, while Bublik will be ranked No. 39.

Nordea Open—Bastad, Sweden
Francisco Cerundolo won his maiden ATP Tour title on Sunday in Bastad, Sweden, defeating countryman Sebastian Baez 7-6(4), 6-2.
Needing one hour and 49 minutes to seal his victory, Cerundolo won 73 percent of his second serve points, hit one ace and broke serve on three occasions.
Never facing his opponent on Tour prior to today’s match, Cerundolo has enjoyed a great season, highlighted by reaching the semifinals of the Miami Open.
As a result of his victory, Cerundolo will be ranked No. 30 in the world on Monday.
Baez, who was looking for his second career title, defeated No. 2 seed Andrey Rublev and former US Open winner Dominic Thiem earlier in the event. Baez will be ranked No. 32 on Monday.
