Arango has already come through qualifying and then produced a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory over Venus Williams to earn her meeting with Swiatek. That means the Colombian enters Sunday having already accumulated valuable match time on the Cincinnati courts.
The matchup is also a rematch of their encounter at the 2025 US Open, when Swiatek dominated Arango 6-1, 6-2.
From a tactical standpoint, Arango’s challenge will be preventing Swiatek from immediately controlling the middle of the court. Ben Shelton vs. Jaime Faria: Canadian Champion Arrives in Cincinnati Red Hot
