Australian Ashleigh Barty won her maiden Grand Slam title in Paris on Saturday, defeating Markéta Vondroušová 6-1, 6-3 at the French Open.

Needing one hour and 10 minutes to seal her victory, Barty slammed three aces and won 81 percent of her second serve points. Breaking serve on five occasions, Barty hit 27 winners to 26 unforced errors. The 23-year-old had previous won the Miami Open in March as her biggest title. Barty defeated Madison Keys and Amanda Anisimova earlier in the event.

Vondroušová, who is still only 19, was playing in her first Major final. The Czech star had defeated Johanna Konta and Anastasija Sevastova in previous rounds.

On the men’s side, the match featuring top seed Novak Djokovic and No. 4 seed Dominic Thiem concluded after numerous rain delays in favor of the Austrian. Defeating his Serbian opponent 6-2, 3-6, 7-5, 5-7, 7-5, Thiem reached his second straight French Open final. The 25-year-old will next face No. 2 seed Rafael Nadal on Sunday.

Thiem struck four aces and won 71 percent of his first serve points against Djokovic during the four hour and 13 minute contest. Thiem also added 52 winners to his performance against the best player in the world.
