Baez, Fucsovics Reach Semifinals of Bucharest ATP Tour Event
Friday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
Friday’s action at the Tiriac Open presented by UniCredit Bank in Bucharest, Romania saw top seed Sebastian Baez and defending champion Marton Fucsovics advance to the semifinals.
First up, Fucsovics needed one hour and 19 minutes to easily dispatch Christopher O’Connell 6-0, 6-4.
Fucsovics, who owns two career titles, will next face No. 1 seed Baez in Saturday’s semifinals.
Baez was tested on Friday but defeated countryman Francisco Comesana 7-6(5), 2-6, 6-1 in two hours and 18 minutes.
The Argentine hit two aces, won 63 percent of his first serve points, broke serve on four occasions and added 27 winners to his victory.
Other matches that are still to come on Friday will include No. 2 seed Pedro Martinez versus Damir Dzumhur, and No. 3 seed Flavio Cobolli taking on Filip Misolic.
Grand Prix Hassan II—Marrakech, Morocco
Action in Marrakech, Morocco on Friday will feature top seed Tallon Griekspoor from the Netherlands taking on No. 8 seed Mattia Bellucci from Italy.
Griekspoor, who defeated top seed Alexander Zverev at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, is currently ranked No. 37 in the world. The 28-year-old will be aiming to win his third-career title this weekend.
Other results already recorded on the day saw Roberto Carballes Baena return to the semifinals after defeating No. 4 seed Nuno Borges 6-4, 6-4.
No. 3 seed Alexandre Muller will be in action later today again Kamil Majchrzak and No. 7 seed Luciano Darderi goes up against Vit Kopriva.

An All-American Quarterfinal Draw in Houston
Friday’s quarterfinal action in Houston, Texas will feature a perfect all-American line up.
Top seed Tommy Paul will face good friend Colton Smith for a place in the semifinals in the day’s second match.
Starting off the day’s proceedings, Jenson Brooksby will take on Aleksandar Kovacevic. Kovacevic recently made the finals in Metz, France and Brooksby is returning to the professional ranks after being injured for the past two seasons.
Later in the day, No. 4 seed Brandon Nakashima will face Christoper Eubanks and No. 2 seed Frances Tiafoe will end the day’s matches by facing No. 5 seed Alex Michelsen.

Top seed Jessica Pegula will have her work cut out for her on Friday in Charleston, South Carolina, facing defending champion and No. 7 seed Danielle Collins for a place in the semifinals.
Owning a 5-0 record against Collins on Tour, Pegula will be aiming to win her eighth career title this weekend.
Other matches on the day will feature No. 3 seed Qinwen Zheng against No. 9 seed Ekaterina Alexandra, No. 14 seed Anna Kalinskaya taking on Sofia Kenin, and Amanda Anisimova going up against No. 4 seed Emma Navvaro.

The top two seeds will be in action on Friday at the Copa Colsanitas Zurich presentado por VISA in Bogota, Colombia.
No. 1 seed Marie Bouzkova will face Katarzyna Kawa from Polond, while No. 2 seed and defending champion Camila Osorio goes up against Tatjana Maria from Germany.
