With three retractable roofs on site that will ensure play in rain or shine and a sporting culture that is second to none around the world, the Australian Open has quickly become the fan friendly Slam of many players and spectators.
On the women’s side, Osaka proved that her victory in NYC was no lucky matter. The 21-year-old Japanese star showcased that her mental game was just as good as her physical prowess by dispatching Petra Kvitova in three tough sets. Using her hard-hit ground-strokes and well-placed serve, Osaka’s rise to the No. 1 ranking in the world comes as no surprise. After her claim to fame in Palm Springs last Spring, the youngster has consistently been a serious force to deal with on the WTA.
All in all, if you’re ever in the market to visit one of the four Majors and you’re struggling to make that decision, think about all of the sights and sounds and the friendly vibes you will receive from the folks Down Under.
