Ukrainan Anhelina Kalinina reached the biggest final of her career on Friday at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, Italy, defeating No. 11 seed Veronika Kudermetova 7-5, 5-7, 6-2.
In a match that lasted two hours and 51 minutes, Kalinina won 65 percent of her first serve points and broke serve on five occasions.
Improving to 2-1 against Kudermetova, Kalinina will next face reigning Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, who defeated former French Open winner Jelena Ostapenko 6-2, 6-4. The women’s final will take Saturday evening.

Saturday’s action will also feature the men’s semifinals. No. 7 seed Holger Rune will start off the day against No. 4 seed Casper Ruud, which will be followed by No. 3 seed Daniil Medvedev resuming his rivalry against No. 5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The winners will face in Sunday’s championship match.
