Citi Open—Washington, DC, U.S.A.
No. 5 seed Alexander Zverev put forth a comprehensive performance on Sunday at the Citi Open in Washington, D.C., defeating No. 15 seed Kevin Anderson 6-4, 6-4 to claim his fifth career title. Needing all but 69 minutes to seal his victory, Zverev broke serve once in each set and never faced a break point. Taking home his fourth title of 2017, Zverev will now set his sights on participating in the Rogers Cup in Montreal next week.
Anderson, who was aiming to win his fourth career title, defeated top seed Dominic Thiem and Jack Sock earlier in the event.
