Alcaraz Out of Barcelona with Arm Injury

Alcaraz Sidelined Once Again

World No. 3 and two-time Major winner Carlos Alcaraz has once again been forced to withdraw from next week’s Barcelona Open with a reoccurring arm injury.

Alcaraz, who had won in Barcelona on two occasions, will have to wait until 2025 to compete in front of his home-country fans.

Pulling out of last week’s Rolex Monte Carlo Masters with the same injury, Alcaraz has not played a competitive match on Tour since losing in the quarterfinals of the Miami Open to Grigor Dimitrov.

Enough Prep Time for the French Open?

While withdrawing from both Monte Carlo and Barcelona are not ideal for the Spaniard’s French Open preparation, he will still have to two major events on Tour to prepare for the year’s second Major.

Next week’s Mutua Madrid Masters in Spain and the upcoming Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, Italy, should provide enough court time for the 20-year-old to feel comfortable on the Parisian clay.

Nadal Hopes to Play

Twelve-time Barcelona winner and 22-time Major champion Rafael Nadal is hopeful of a return to his beloved clay this week in Spain.

The Spaniard is currently slated to play Flabio Cobolli on Tuesday in first-round match. If he is successful, Nadal will take on inform Australian Alex de Minaur in the second round.

Watch all the action live this week from Barcelona on Tennis TV.

Get ready for the year’s second Major today, with great tickets to the French Open in Paris. In what could be Nadal’s last trip to Paris, fans and players alike will surely want to be present to witness the game’s greatest clay-court player.
