The 2025 Garden Cup, benefiting the International Tennis Hall of Fame will mark the 12th exciting year of what has become a must-see celebration of the sport at Madison Square Garden. The unforgettable event has featured the greatest players in the world including twenty-three former World No. 1 players in the past. The one-night tennis exhibition promises electrifying matchups and elite tennis talent, all under the lights of The World’s Most Famous Arena. The Garden Cup is a Tennis Night Out event.

Sabalenka, the first back-to-back US Open Champion since Serena Williams in 2014, will lead the field of top players into Madison Square Garden and face former four-time Grand Slam champion and recent US Open semifinalist, Naomi Osaka. The two stars met once previously on tour in the 2018 US Open with Osaka claiming victory in the Round of 16 match. December 8 will mark their Madison Square Garden debuts.

“I love playing in New York so coming back to The Garden at holiday time will be awesome,” said Sabalenka. “And, playing Naomi, who just had such a great US Open, will be really special.”

Osaka added “Playing at Madison Square Garden has a special meaning for a tennis player. The history there is unmatched in sports, and I am looking forward to playing Aryna in December.”

The very charismatic, Kyrgios who has seven ATP Tour singles titles and reached the final of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, will take to The Garden court to face American Olympic medalist, and current No. 14, Tommy Paul. As professionals, the two have squared off against each other on two previous occasions in 2022 with Kyrgios winning both matches. This will mark the Australian, Kyrgios’ second time at MSG, competing previously against Jack Sock in 2017. Paul will make his Garden debut.

The event will feature two best-of-three matches with a 10-point third set tiebreaker. The stars will return to the court for a special mixed doubles match to conclude the evening.

“I don’t know how many more times I will play in New York City so playing Tommy at The Garden will be outrageous. And the mixed doubles will be fun for everyone,” said Kyrgios.

“I have watched as all the great players of our sport have played at The Garden over the last fifteen years,” added Paul. “To be part of that will be one of the memorable moments of my career and I am really looking forward to it.”

“We are incredibly grateful for The Garden Cup’s generous support of the International Tennis Hall of Fame and our mission to preserve and promote tennis history while celebrating its champions to inspire excellence in future generations. This opportunity connects the sport’s present with its past. We look forward to an incredible evening at Madison Square Garden,” said Dan Faber, CEO of the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
