Alcaraz Forced to Withdraw from 2025 National Bank Open in Toronto
[TORONTO, ON] July 21, 2025 – Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz has been forced to withdraw from the 2025 National Bank Open (NBO) presented by Rogers in Toronto to recover following Wimbledon, Tennis Canada confirmed on Monday.
Alcaraz, a five-time Grand Slam champion, enjoyed his best run at the NBO in 2023 when he made the quarter-finals in Toronto, losing to Tommy Paul of the United States.
“I’m really sad to have to miss the National Bank Open in Toronto,” Alcaraz said. “I tried my best to be ready for the tournament as it’s one I really enjoy playing, but it comes just too soon for me as I recover after Wimbledon. I wish the event well and look forward to being back on the Canadian courts next year.”
The National Bank Open begins on Saturday in Toronto, Canada.
