Monday’s action at the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell in Barcelona, Spain saw talented American Sebastian Korda race into the second round, defeating Matteo Arnaldi 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in just under two hours.
Striking five aces, 32 winners and breaking serve on four occasions, Korda will next face either No. 3 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas or fellow American Reilly Opelka.
Other winners on the day saw Pedro Martinez ousting Brandon Nakashima 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.
Matches that are still on deck on Monday will feature No. 4 seed Andrey Rublev and No. 6 seed Holger Rune.

BMW Open by Bitpanda
Former top 10 player David Goffin reached the second round of the BMW Open by Bitpand in Munich, Germany on Monday, defeating Billy Harris from the Great Britain 6-2, 6-7(2), 6-4.
Goffin will next face either No. 3 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime or Marino Navone from Argentina.
Other winners on the day featured Tallon Griekspoor advancing in two sets over Learner Tien, and Miomir Kecmanovic needing nearly three hours to oust Marcos Giron in a third set tiebreaker.
Tuesday’s action in Munich will be highlighted by No. 4 seed Ugo Humbert and No. 8 seed Denis Shapovalov.

STUTTGART, GERMANY
Monday’s light schedule at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany will see No. 8 seed Diana Shnaider take on Veronika Kudermetova, Elise Mertens versus Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Anastasia Potapova facing Clara Tauson.
Tournament top seeds Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek will be in action later this week.

Day 1 action at the Open Capfinances Rouen Metropole in Rouen, France featured Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah picking up a nice hometown victory, defeating No. 7 seed Lucia Bronzetti 6-2, 6-3.
Rakotomanga Rajaonah will next face either Diane Parry or Jacqueline Cristian for a place in the quarterfinals.
