Solinco Debuts ‘Take Flight’ Campaign, Sends the World’s First High-Performance Tennis String to Space

LOS ANGELES, CA — March 18, 2025 – Solinco, a leader in high-performance tennis equipment, has taken its newest co-polyester string, Mach-10, to new heights–literally. In a daring campaign and bold fusion between sports and aerospace, the brand partnered with an aerospace engineering firm to launch its new Mach-10 into space – making it the first-ever tennis string to leave Earth’s atmosphere.

“We spent five years of research and development perfecting Mach-10, and feel like we have achieved a breakthrough in what it can deliver to the modern player,” said KT Kim, Solinco Director. “It’s a true testament to the hard work behind it. Just like in tennis, the path to innovation requires a commitment to push boundaries in the pursuit of excellence, no matter the obstacle.”

Solinco’s Mach-10 made history recently at the 2025 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, where its space launch footage debuted alongside the string’s official release. Fans tuned in through digital campaigns and a YouTube documentary to witness its journey 110,000 feet into space.

A custom-engineered rig carried the Mach-10 string set on its epic journey to space. Suspended beneath a hydrogen-filled stratospheric balloon, the string ascended 110,000 feet, the equivalent of stacking 1,410 tennis courts end to end. After spending two hours in space, Mach-10 made its return to Earth, landing in the hands of the legendary Bryan Brothers. The Bryan Brothers are tennis’ greatest doubles team of all time, having won 16 Grand Slam titles and held the No. 1 ATP doubles ranking for 438 weeks. Having endured the ultimate test beyond our planet, the space-traveled string will now be put through its paces on the court, proving its performance where it truly matters.

For over a decade, Solinco has been a lead innovator of high-performance tennis strings, redefining what players can expect from their equipment. Tour Bite changed the game in 2008, setting new benchmarks for spin and durability. Hyper-G—the neon green icon—became the No. 1 string in America and a go-to for players at every level. Now, after years of development, Mach-10 has made its mark—launching with a bold campaign that reflects its innovation.

Mach-10 ushers in a new era of high-performance co-polyester strings, a testament to Solinco’s relentless innovation in the space. Engineered for the modern player, it pushes performance to unprecedented heights with its unique combination of power, feel, and tension maintenance.
