Auger-Aliassime Reaches Semifinals of 2025 Dubai Open
Thursday’s schedule at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, saw Felix Auger-Aliassime continue his great year on Tour, ousting former US Open winner Marin Cilic 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.
Prevailing in two hours and 17 minutes, the 24-year-old hit 13 aces, won 77 percent of his first serve points, and broke his opponent on three occasions.
Winning his second match in a row over Cilic after losing the first three, Auger-Aliassime will next face either Quentin Halys or Luca Nardi for a place in Saturday’s final.
Auger-Aliassime is currently ranked No. 20 in the world and has an impressive win/loss record of 15-4 on the season.
Matches that are still to come on Thursday will feature top seed Daniil Medvedev taking on Tallon Griekspoor, and No. 4 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas facing Matteo Berrettini. Tsitsipas ousted Karen Khachanov in three sets on Wednesday, while Berrettini took out Christopher O’Connell 7-6(2), 6-2.
Friday’s action in Dubai will be highlighted by semifinal matches.
