Auger-Aliassime, Cilic Reach Quarterfinals of 2025 Dubai Open
Wednesday’s action at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, saw inform Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime reach the quarterfinals, defeating Portuguese star Nuno Borges 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.
Needing two hours and 19 minutes to advance, Auger-Aliassime hit nine aces, won 78 percent of his first serve points, and broke his opponent on three occasions.
Improving to 14-4 on the season, Auger-Aliassime will next face former US Open champion Marin Cilic for a place in the semifinals.
Cilic overcame the serving challenge of Alexi Popyrin 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 in two hours and 15 minutes.
The Croatian leads Auger-Aliassime 3-1 in career head-to-head meetings.
