500 ATP Tour Points On Deck in Dubai
This year’s Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships will highlight another competitive field. Top seed Daniil Medvedev will have to fend off good friends Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov if he is to win the title.
Other notable players in the 32-man field will see Australian Alex de Minuar, Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas, defending champion Ugo Humbert, Brit Jack Draper, and flamboyant Frenchman Arthur Fils.
Zverev Leads Acapulco Field
A favourite Tour stop on the ATP Tour returns in Acapulco, Mexico this week. World No. 2 Alexander Zverev will look to win the title against US Open finalist Taylor Fritz, three-time Major finalist Casper Ruud, newly crowned top tenner Tommy Paul, former world No. 4 Holger Rune, Australian Open semifinalist Ben Shelton, Wimbledon semifinalist Lorenzo Musetti, and two-time US Open semifinalist Frances Tiafoe.
Continuing to have a great vibe around the event, the Abierto Mexicano Telcel presentado por HSBC will have a great ambience throughout the main draw.
Jarry and Tabilo Return to Chile
The final stop of the South American tour ends in Santiago, Chile this week
Home-country heroes Nicolas Jarry and Alejandro Tabilo, will have their hands full with the likes of Francisco Cerundolo, Sebastian Baez, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Mariano Navone, Fabio Fognini, and Jaume Munar.
Merida and Austin this week’s WTA Focus
Returning to action this week after giving birth to her on last year, two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova will be in the main draw of the Austin, Texas event. The soon-to-be 35-year-old will be joined by Americans Jessica Pegula and Peyton Stearns, as well as defending champion Yuan Yue.
The 500 level event Merida, Mexico will feature last year’s winner Zeynep Sonmez from Turkey. Sonmez ousted American Ann Li in last year’s final for her first career title.
