Italian Fabian Marozsan continued his strong form at the Rolex Shanghai Masters on Tuesday, defeating No. 8 seed Casper Ruud 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-4.
Needing two hours and 40 minutes to advance, Marozsan struck 56 winners and broke the serve of his opponent on two occasions.
Marozsan will next face No. 16 seed Hubert Hurkacz, who dismissed Chinese No. 1 Zhizhen Zhan in three tough sets.
Elsewhere, Sebastian Korda his recent good form by ousting No. 20 seed Francisco Cerundolo in straight sets.
Korda will next face No. 19 seed Ben Shelton, who dismissed No. 6 seed Jannik Sinner 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(5).
Shelton struck 15 aces and hit a top serve speed of 142 MPH.
Wednesday’s schedule in Shanghai will feature No. 1 seed Carlos Alcaraz, No. 5 seed Andrey Rublev and No. 12 seed Tommy Paul.
