Friday’s action at the US Open featured No. 5 seed Casper Ruud reaching his second Major final of 2022 after he defeated No. 27 seed Karen Khachanov 7-6(5), 2-6, 5-7, 6-2.
Needing two hours and 59 minutes to advance, Ruud struck 10 aces, withstood 15 from his opponent, won 64 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on six occasions.
Improving to 2-0 against Khachanov in lifetime meetings, Ruud will next face No. 3 seed Carlos Alcaraz, who overcame a five set tussle with No. 22 seed Frances Tiafoe on Saturday evening, 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-1, 6-7(5), 6-3.
Ruud lost in the French Open finals to Rafael Nadal in four sets.
Alcaraz will be playing in his first career Major final. As always, Betway has great odds on Sunday’s championship match, with Spaniard the clear favourite.
