Steve Johnson (United States) plays in a semifinal match at the 2017 Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men's Clay Court Championship in Houston, Texas.

HOUSTON – A trio of Top 20 players will return to River Oaks Country Club for the Fayez Sarofim & Co. U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship April 7-15. Former champion John Isner will be joined by two-time finalist Sam Querrey and US Open finalist Kevin Anderson in the singles draw.

The announcement of these commitments comes days before single session and Champs Pass tickets go on sale. Those tickets will be available beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 1.

Isner won the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship title in 2013, one year after reaching the final. Ten of the 12 titles that the American has claimed in his career have come on US soil, the most recent coming in Atlanta earlier this year. Sitting at world No.17, Isner finishes the year in the top 20 for the eighth year in a row. He is the only active player to appear in every edition of the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship since it’s move to River Oaks in 2008.

Querrey returns to the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship where he has reached the final twice – in 2015, losing to Jack Sock, and 2010, falling to Juan Ignacio Chela. The Southern California native, who will be making his ninth tournament appearance, owns 14 career match-wins at River Oaks, tying him with Isner for the most among active players. Querrey finished the year at a career best of world No.13 after reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon and the quarterfinals at the US Open.

Anderson makes his way back to River Oaks for the fifth time. The big serving South African reached the semifinals in 2015, losing to eventual champion Jack Sock. Anderson reached two finals in 2017, including his first Major final at the US Open. He has won three titles while appearing in 13 career finals. The world No.13 will finish the year in the top 20 for the fourth time in his career.

The trio joins previously announced defending champion Steve Johnson in the singles draw. The American returns to River Oaks bidding to be the first player to repeat as U.S. Clay champion since Andy Roddick won back-to-back titles in 2001 and 2002.

Six-time doubles champions Bob and Mike Bryan will compete at the U.S. Clay for the 16th time. They own a 38-9 record at the tournament, having won titles in 2007, 2009-11, 2014 and 2016.

Single session tickets as well as the Champs Pass, which includes tickets to the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals, will go on sale on this Friday, December 1. The Champ Pass routinely sells out in advance of the tournament.
