ASICS Launches COURT FF and Extends Partnership with Gaël Monfils

ASICS AND TENNIS AMBASSADOR GAËL MONFILS EXTEND GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP AS BRAND LAUNCHES MOST SMASHING TENNIS SHOE EVER

Irvine, Calif. (February 23, 2017) – ASICS, the true sport performance brand, strengthens its presence in the tennis category through the re- signing of a multi-year agreement with French tennis star Gaël Monfils and the launch of their most cutting-edge tennis shoe to-date, the COURT FFTM.

Known for his energetic play and agility on the court, Monfils became an ASICS worldwide tennis ambassador in 2013 and has steadily risen in the rankings over the course of the partnership. The 30-year-old phenom is currently at the top of his game, ranked 12th in the world (as Feb 23, 2017), and earning his biggest title win in Washington D.C., a U.S. Open semi-final place and qualification for his first season-ending championships.

“Speed, agility and range are key parts of my game and ASICS technology and stability allow me to play the game the way I love to play it,” said Monfils. “I’m excited to continue this partnership and work with everyone at ASICS tennis to bring everyone the best tennis shoes and apparel.”

The Frenchman will continue his contribution to the development of new ASICS tennis collections, offering his unique insight on the needs of top-level players, as well as infusing his personal style and providing feedback to the brand’s designers. He has already praised the GEL-RESOLUTION® tennis shoe for its outstanding stability, which he requires for his explosive play.

“Gaël is an incredible ambassador for our brand both on and off the court,” said Gene McCarthy, ASICS America President and CEO. “We take pride in developing cutting-edge performance products that enable and enhance his athleticism in the match, and lifestyle products that fit his style and showcase his personality off the court.”

Innovation on the court

Designed specifically with the competitive tennis player in mind, ASICS is proud to unveil the new COURT FFTM model, the most innovative ASICS tennis shoe to-date. The COURT FF shoe features a range of technologies, including significant levels of cushioning and stability while remaining lightweight, high levels of comfort and fit and a tennis-specific last to move quickly across the court.

Lightweight Cushioning

The COURT FFTM model is lightweight but delivers great cushioning by adopting ASICS’ unique FlyteFoam® midsole material with reinforced fibers. First introduced in ASICS’ revolutionizing MetaRunTM concept running shoe, FlyteFoam technology is approximately 55% lighter than the industry standard midsole materials and maintains appropriate cushioning from start to finish.

Comfort and fit

Comfort and fit – contributing to stability – are further enhanced with the introduction of a full mesh MONO-SOCK® upper, giving soft flexibility and support for a snug fit, as well as an inner reinforcement construction for instep support. The seamless mesh generates enhanced airflow.

Speed Last

A newly designed, tennis-specific last has been created to help players move quickly around the court. It is inspired by a running last with higher toe spring to help players transition quickly into forefoot position.

The COURT FFTM model retails for $170.00 and is available at select tennis specialty stores and on ASICS.com.
