ASICS Tennis releases new shoe line for 2017: Gel Court FF, Gel Resolution 7 and Gel Solutions Speed 3

Known for making the best tennis shoes on the market, ASICS has released an array of eye-catching and functional footwear for the 2017 season. Sponsoring the likes of Gael Monfils, David Goffin, Steve Johnson and Vasek Pospisil, ASICS continues to bring forth the stability, durability and light-weight characteristics that make them the leaders in shoe innovation.

Let’s now take a look at the impressive ASICS Tennis shoe line-up for men in 2017.

Gel Court FF

Providing a completely new offering with the Gel Court FF, ASICS has managed to bring forth a glove-like fit to this light-weight silhouette. Featuring a FlyteFoam midsole that allows for ample cushioning, the Gel Court FF requires no break-in period, while the GEL cushioning in the heel and forefoot provides protection against harsh landings that can take place on a hard-court. Also new in the Gel Court FF, a mono-sock design allows for comfortable access and an adaptive fit feel through initial to long-term use.

Breathability in the Gel Court FF was a dream. The mess upper maintained great ventilation during training sessions, while not compromising comfort.

All in all, if you’re looking for a light-weight, breathable and stable offering for your 2017 tennis season, then the Gel Court FF —as worn by David Goffin—is a must try.

Shoe Rating: 10/10

Gel Resolution 7

Continuing its long tradition of creating a shoe that can withstand hours of wear-and-tear, while providing more than enough comfort around the court, the latest rendition of the Gel Resolution 7 did not disappoint when it came to a multitude of different court exercises. Backed by a 6-month outsole guarantee, ASICS’ most durable tennis shoe has been updated with a new FlexionFit upper, which is placed over the mess wrap. Allowing for great breathability, the Gel Resolution 7 did require a slight break-in period, but once that was achieved, the comfort and security that has become synonymous with the Gel Resolution series was ever apparent.

Other new features of the Gel Resolution 7 include the lowering of the external heel counter in the back to address fit issues in previous models. Not to be missed, the all-new safety yellow, indigo blue and white color pallet will have a player seen from anywhere on the court.

That said, the Gel Resolution 7 remains a favorite for most club to elite level players, and that will not change with this latest model.

Shoe Rating: 9/10

Gel Solution Speed 3

Updated in a sleek black and grey color-way, the Gel Solution Speed 3 remains perhaps the fastest and low-to-ground feeling shoe on the market. Running on the narrower side in terms of the fit, the Gel Solution Speed 3 is surprising very durable, considering it’s light-weight nature. Generally speaking, speed oriented shoes are never the most durable, but the Gel Solution Speed 3 will provide any player with the durability that would be expected from a much heavier offering.

Packed with many great features, the Gel Solution Speed 3 is highlighted by a new full length Flexion Fit in the upper for security and balance, while the trademark Gel cushioning in the back of the shoe allows for unmatched feel and support when playing on harder surfaces. The modified herringbone pattern is also a great feature as it allows for play on a variety of different courts.

Bottom line: If speed, comfort and security are your thing, then you can’t go wrong with the Gel Solution Speed 3.

Shoe Rating: 9/10
