First off, we found the Blade 98S allowed for a better sweet spot, which was emphasized by the Parallel Drilling technology. Typically, rackets that have string patterns of 18×20 do not provide the most pop for the money spent, but the Blade 98S gives baseline players enough juice to spare. Weighing in at 11oz (strung weight) the Blade 98S is also a flexible frame and does not feel stiff even when polyester strings are applied. While a recommended string tension of 47-57 pounds is suggested, we recommend stinging the Blade 98S at around 50 pounds for the best combination of power and control.

Introducing the #BurntheBaseline hashtag, Wilson is also excited to release the latest line of the Burn rackets. Featured in the hands of Kei Nishikori and Simona Halep, the Burn 100S is a baseline bashers dream. With a headsize of 100 sq. and weighing in at 11.3 ounces (strung weight), the Burn 100S provides a great entry-level weight for juniors players, while performing like a top-notch player racket with the addition of lead tape. Similarly to the Blade 98S, the Burn 100S is also highlighted by Parallel Drilling technology to give the player a bigger sweet spot. The the sweet spot adjustment will require some time for the player to feel comfortable, but after a few hours of hitting the more forgiving sweet spot is a great addition to this frame.

The mark of good baseline racket these days always comes down to how much a player can hit out with spin and still keep the ball in the court. The Burn 100S offers great consistency and accuracy, and this could also be attributed to the ever-popular 18×20 string pattern that is available in performance rackets these days.
