Mutua Madrid Open—Madrid, Spain
Home-country phenom Carlos Alcaraz captured his fourth title of the 2022 on Sunday in Madrid, Spain, downing No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev 6-3, 6-1.

Dismissing top seed Novak Djokovic and five-time former winner Rafael Nadal earlier in the event, Alcaraz will move up to No. 6 in the world on Monday. The extraordinary rise of the recently turned 19-year-old has been the talk of the tennis world in 2022.
Winning titles in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Miami, Florida and Barcelona, Spain earlier this season, Alcaraz is now one of the top favourites to capture Roland Garros later this month.
Alcaraz is next slated to take part in the Italian Open, which will take place at the historic Foro Italico in Rome next week.
Zverev, who was aiming to claim his first title of the year and 20th of his career, dispatched No. 4 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinals. Zverev entered the event as the defending champion. He was contesting his third final in the Capital of Spain.
