Top seed Karen Khachanov claimed his fifth career title and first in five years on the ATP Tour on Tuesday, defeating No. 8 seed Yoshihito Nishioka 7-6(2), 6-1.
In a match that lasted one hour and 43 minutes, Khachanov hit nine aces, won 77 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on three occasions.
Hitting 37 winners in total, Khachanov improved to 4-1 against Nishioka in lifetime meetings.
The 27-year-old will be ranked No. 14 in the world on Monday.
Nishioka, who was looking to win third career title, will move up to No. 38 in the world on Monday.
