Another season of tennis action has begun and the good folks over at Wilson Tennis have once again introduced a stellar line up of new apparel and footwear for both men and women. Outfitting the likes of Philipp Kohlschreiber, Feliciano Lopez and Jarkko Nieminen, Wilson continues to make a bold statement at the Aussie Open this week with their all-new Men’s Spring Solana Geometric V-Neck Crew (pictured to the right) in Wilson red, neon mango and white, which is paired with the Men’s Spring Solana Colorblock 10″ Short. For those looking for a modern yet function fit, the Spring Solana Geometric crew is simply a winner. The print on the front of the garment is eye-catching and the UPF 30+ protection is a must-have under the sun. The Spring Solana Colorblock 10″ Short is great for those looking for a longer piece to get their game on. Featuring light-weight fabric and a coal with grey color throughout, you’ll be looking for these shorts when that big match comes along.
Shifting gears to the women’s line, we were impressed with the Women’s Spring Solana V-Neck Tank in coral with cherry, which was matched with the Spring Solana Colorblock 13.5″ Skort in cherry. Featuring great ventilation on both garments, the V-Neck Tank also featured UPF 30+ protection and a great pixel design on the back, while the 13.5″ Skort allowed for great range of motion and a nicely fitted built-in contrast short for comfort. Overall, the Spring 2014 collection, which is headed by pool blue, lime, coral and cherry as its main colors, fits in nicely with the upcoming Spring season.

Rush NGX 2014 Reivew:
Having a successful season with their flagship shoe of the 2013, the Rush Pro, Wilson has introduced an all-new shoe for 2014 for both men and women by the name of the Rush NGX.
First off, both men’s and women’s models required no break in at all. Just slip them on and head to the courts. Secondly, the colorways for both shoes: black, red & asphalt for men and oceana, cyber green and white for women provided more color pop than the Rush Pro in general. The tread on the Rush NGX worked great on all surfaces and is overall a much lighter shoe than the Rush Pro. Ventilation on both models is also much better on the NGX compared with the Rush Pro and a softer fit throughout once again adds to no break-in time required.
Wilson has also introduced a Duralast Outsole to this model, which allows for better grip on hard-courts or clay, as well as maximum durability.
The ladies of the court will also have an extra appreciation for the Rush NGX (pictured to the right). Taking into account Women’s Specific Support (WSS), the NGX for women specifically targets support and stability that female athletes need. This new built-in construction uses an asymmetrical and elongated medial side TPU heel counter and a dual density molded sock liner to help hold the heel in position, while providing added support through the midfoot area.
Other specs on both the men’s and women’s Rush NGX models are as follows:
– Weight: 11.8 oz. (men), 10.2 oz. (women)
– Sizes: 7-13, 14 (men), 5.5-10, 11 (women)
– Colors for men: Black/Red/Asphalt (avail Jan.), Graphite/Green Glow/White (avail Mar.), New Blue/White/Sun (avail May)
