Tsitsipas, Rublev Advance in Rotterdam; Rybakina Reaches Abu Dhabi Semifinals
Thursday’s results at the ABN AMRO Open in the Netherlands saw No. 6 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas advance to the quarterfinals, defeating home-country favourite Tallon Griekspoor 6-7(5), 7-6(6), 7-5.
Needing three hours to prevail, Tsitsipas struck 12 aces, won 80 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on three occasions.
Currently ranked No. 12 in the world, Tsitsipas will next face Mattia Bellucci, who defeated No. 2 Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3 on Wednesday.
Other winners on the day saw No. 3 seed Alex de Minaur, No. 4 seed Andrey Rublev and lucky loser Daniel Altmaier all reaching the final eight. Altmaier ousted No. 7 seed Arthur Fils 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.
Still to come on Thursday, top seed Carlos Alvaraz will take on Andrea Vavassori.
Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open presented by Abu Dhabi Sports Council—Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Top seed Elena Rybakina needed all her experience on Thursday at the Abu Dhabi Open, defeating three-time former Major finalist Ons Jabeur 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(4).
Rybakina, who always plays well in the Middle East, hit three aces, won 77 percent of her first serve points and broke serve on four occasions.
The No. 1 seed will next face Belinda Bencic for a place in the finals. Bencic took out former Wimbledon winner Marketa Vondrousova 7-5, 6-3.
Other results on the day saw Ashlyn Krueger and Linda Noskova reach the final four. Kruger dismissed No. 8 seed Leylah Fernandez 7-5, 4-6, 6-2, and Noskova defeated Magda Linette 6-4, 6-3.

Transylvania Open—Cluj-Napoca, Romania
Top seed Anastasia Potapova reached the quarterfinals of the Transylvania Open in Cluj-Napoca, Romania on Thursday, dismissing Viktorija Golubic 6-4, 7-5.
Needing one hour and 38 minutes to advance, Potapova won 63 percent of her first serve points and broke serve on six occasions.
The Russian will next face Ella Seidel from Germany for a place in the semifinals. Seidel dispatched Anna Blinkova 6-2, 7-6(5).
Other winners on the day saw No. 5 seed Katerina Siniakova, and Italian Lucia Bronzetti reach the quarterfinals.
Bronzetti ended the career of Simona Halep earlier in the week.
