TENNIS CHANNEL TO SHOW DAVIS CUP FINALS NOVEMBER 22-27

United States will Play Italy Thanksgiving Morning

Complete, Live Coverage as Eight Nations Battle for World Championship in Spain

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 17, 2022 – Tennis Channel will have exclusive coverage of the 2022 Davis Cup Finals, live from Malaga, Spain, November 22-27. The six-day event, the culmination of men’s tennis’ annual national-team tournament, will feature the eight countries to reach the quarterfinals this season, including the all-time title holder United States. Action will get underway Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m. ET, as Australia faces Netherlands in the first quarterfinal.

The network plans to show 40 live hours of Davis Cup Finals matches this year, followed by another 100 hours of encore coverage. Streaming service Tennis Channel Plus will offer all matches on demand following their conclusion.

Every head-to-head battle will feature two singles and one doubles match worth a point each. No nation has won more Davis Cup championships than the United States, which is seeking its record-extending 33rd cup. The Americans will meet Italy on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 24, at 4 a.m. ET, with the winner advancing to a semifinal match against either Germany or Canada on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 7 a.m. ET.

Germany and Canada will meet on Thanksgiving at 10 a.m. ET. Spain will play Croatia Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 10 a.m. ET. The country that comes out ahead will meet the winner of Australia-Netherlands in a semifinal on Friday, Nov. 25, at 10 a.m.

The Davis Cup Finals championship will take place Sunday, Nov. 27, at 7 a.m. ET.

Former players Jason Goodall and Paul Annacone (@paul_annacone) will handle play-by-play and analysis duties, respectively, during Tennis Channel’s 2022 Davis Cup Finals coverage. Goodall competed for the British Davis Cup team in 1989; Annacone suited up for the United States in 1986.

The United States Davis Cup team is captained by Mardy Fish, who competed in 11 ties (head-to-head matchups) as a player from 2002-2012. The squad includes Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe, both of whom had career years in 2022. Fritz won the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, Calif., in March, his most prestigious title, and broke into the top 10 in singles rankings. Tiafoe went on a spectacular run at the US Open in late summer, reaching his first major semifinal and defeating all-time great Rafael Nadal along the way. They will be joined by past Wimbledon and US Open doubles champion Jack Sock. Tommy Paul, who reached his first ATP Masters 1000 quarterfinal in Montreal in August, rounds out the U.S. team.

The Americans most recently won the Davis Cup in 2017.

Among other stars competing for the Davis Cup next week are Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, Croatia’s Marin Cilic and Italy’s Matteo Berrettini.
