Before the action in New York begins later this month, the tennis world makes an important stop at the Cincinnati Open in Mason, Ohio.
Known as the premier summer event on Tour, this year’s tournament will feature Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff.
Novak Djokovic recently pulled out of the event after his Olympic triumph.
Olympic Gold Medalist Djokovic has decided to rest after his magical victory from Paris, France. The greatest of all time Serbian will 1000 points as a result of his absence.
Alcaraz and Sinner will be looking to win their first-ever titles in Cincinnati, but top contenders Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Daniil Medvedev will also be looking to claim the top prize.
On the women’s side, a top-quality field will see Swiatek, Sabalenka and Coco Gauff as the lead players to take the title.
Swiatek in particular will be looking to hone her game after disappointing losses at Wimbledon and the Olympic Games.
Sabalenka returns to her favourite surface and will be looking to add to her two Majors in Australia.
Defending US Open winner Gauff will be keen on making this week in Cincinnati a great springboard for her title defence in NYC.
The Toronto Masters will once again showcase the top stars on the WTA.
Aryna Sabalenka will lead a heavily contested field which will include Coco Gauff, Bianca Andresscu and Jessica Pegula.
