Italian star Jannik Sinner upset top seed Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of the Miami Open on Friday evening.
Needing three hours and one minute to prevail, Sinner posted an impressive 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-2 scoreline.
Sinner will next face former US Open winner Daniil Medvedev.
Medvedev needed three sets to get past his good friend Karen Khachanov 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-3 earlier in the day. Playing in his fifth straight final, Medvedev will have to fend off Sinner for his first Miami Open title.
Sinner, who made the finals in Miami in 2021, has yet to win a Masters 1000 title.
Alcaraz recently won the BNP Paribas Open and was aiming to win the rare Sunshine double.
As always, Betway will have great tennis odds on the men’s final from South Florida.
The women’s final on Saturday will feature reigning Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina taking on Petra Kvitova.
Kvitova dismissed Sorana Cirstea 7-5, 6-4 on Friday.
