Monday’s action at the Miami Open saw former Wimbledon finalist Elena Rybakina easily move into the fourth round, defeating American Madison Keys 6-3, 7-5.
Slamming five aces and winning 80 percent of her first serve points, Rybakina will next face No. 8 seed Maria Sakkari for a place in the quarterfinals. Sakkari received a walkover from No. 22 seed Anna Kalinskaya earlier in the day.
Elsewhere, Victoria Azarenka and Yulia Putintseva also reached the fourth round.
On the men’s side, No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev, No. 9 seed Alex de Minaur, No. 15 seed Karen Khachanov and unseeded Fabian Marozsan all reached the round of 16.
Still to come on Monday, top seed Carlos Alcaraz will face Gael Monfils in the night session, followed by Iga Swiatek taking on Ekaterina Alexandrova.
Tuesday’s action in Miami will feature men’s fourth round play and women’s fourth round matches.
