Sunday’s action at the Miami Open featured No. 6 seed Holger Rune crashing out of the event, losing 6-1, 6-1 to Fabian Marozsan.
Marozsan, who defeated Carlos Alcaraz in Rome last year, will next face Alexi Popyrin for a place in the fourth round.
Elsewhere, No. 9 seed Alex de Minaur, No. 16 seed Ben Shelton, No. 23 seed Lorenzo Musetti and No. 24 seed Jan-Lennard Struff all advanced in straight sets.
No. 3 seed Coco Gauff, No. 5 seed Jessica Pegula, No. 14 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova and No. 20 seed Emma Navarro all reached the fourth round.
No. 19 seed Sorana Cirstea also ousted No. 10 seed Daria Kasatkina 7-5, 6-2.
Monday’s star-studded lineup in Miami will include top seed Carlos Alcaraz taking on the ever-entertaining Gael Monfils.
