Russian Andrey Rublev continued his strong form on the ATP Tour on Saturday by defeating Frenchman Corentin Moutet 6-2, 7-6(3) to win the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha.
Taking home his third career title, Rublev hit three aces, won 77 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on three occasions. Needing one hour and 27 minutes to claim his title, Rublev defeated Miomir Kecmanovic, Pierre-Hugues Herbert, and Mikhail Kukushkin earlier in the event.
The 22-year-old will hit a new career high on No. 19 in the world on Monday.
Moutet, who was playing in first career final, defeated top seed Stan Wawrinka in the semifinals. The 20-year-old will move up to No. 71 in the world on Monday.
