Gijon Open—Gijon, Spain
Top seed Andrey Rublev captured his 12th career title on the ATP Tour on Sunday, defeating Sebastian Korda 6-2, 6-3 in Gijon, Spain.
Needing one hour and 15 minutes to claim his crown, Rublev struck three aces, won 76 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on three occasions during the one hour and 15 minute affair.
Improving to 2-0 against Korda in lifetime meetings, Rublev still remains very-much in the hunt to qualify for the season-ending event in Turin, Italy.
Korda, who was attempting to win his second career title, ousted Andy Murray and Roberto Bautista Agut earlier in the event.
Rublev will be ranked No. 8 in the world on Monday, while Korda will move up to No. 36.
