Perfect bracket prediction could lead to big payout for fans of Toronto and Montreal tournaments

July 7, 2016 – Tennis Canada announced Thursday the launch of the inaugural $1,000,000 Bracket Challenge for Rogers Cup presented by National Bank in both Toronto and Montreal. Fans of both tournaments from across the country have the chance to win the big payout by predicting a perfect bracket for the singles draws of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 and WTA Premier 5 events being held from July 22-31.

“This is a way for tennis fans from coast-to-coast to get closer to Rogers Cup this summer,” said Karl Hale, Rogers Cup presented by National Bank tournament director, Toronto. “You don’t have to be on-site, or even in either city, to engage with the two tournaments. This is Canada’s tennis event and it’s important that we continue to find ways for all Canadians to feel connected to our sport and our events from wherever they are. It also provides people the opportunity to get their competitive juices flowing off the court while the players battle it out on the court!”

Available on rogerscup.com and through the official Rogers Cup app, fans will be able to fill out their brackets once the singles draws for both events get made and become available in the early evening on Friday, July 22. Participants can register early at rogerscup.com/bracket/ and opt in to be notified once the draws become live. All registered participants will have until the start of main draw play in both cities on July 25 to complete their bracket predictions. Advance sign-up is available now.

Winning will not be exclusive to predicting a perfect bracket as the fan with the closest attempt (highest-score) at the end of the event will walk away with the secondary prize of a trip to the championship weekend of the 2017 Rogers Cup presented by National Bank. There will be one secondary prize winner for each of the men’s and women’s singles draws. Participants will be able to track their progress and where they stand on the overall leaderboard online throughout the entirety of the tournaments.

Eligible participants must be Canadian and at least 18 years of age. Full rules and regulations can be found here.

Owned and operated by Tennis Canada, the prestigious Rogers Cup presented by National Bank attracts the biggest stars in tennis year after year. In 2016, the men’s event will be staged at Aviva Centre in Toronto from July 23 to 31, while the women’s event will take place at Uniprix Stadium from July 22 to 31. For tickets and additional information, please visit rogerscup.com.

Sportsnet is the official English broadcaster and TVA is the official French broadcaster of the 2016 Rogers Cup.
