Welcome back to the TennisConnected Podcast for 2016!
Six weeks removed from the Australian Open final, Parsa Samii and Nima Naderi return to preview the BNP Paribas Open from Indian Wells.
With a lot to discuss in our latest episode, we recap the month of February before diving into both the men’s and women’s fields at Indian Wells. After suffering with an eye infection in Dubai, will Novak Djokovic be at full strength to defend his title, and how will Serena Williams respond to her first event since losing in the Aussie Open final? We finish the show by discussing the recent drug admission from Maria Sharapova and the Davis Cup controversy between Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic.
As always, you can alternatively listen to the #1 tennis PodCast via iTunes and never miss another episode. It is very easy and completely free.
Sharapova got warned a total 5 times by the WTA/ITF and WADA that the drug was going to banned in 2016. She ignored all communication. Also the Russian authorities were telling athletes since October to stop taking the drug. So she got ample notification. The responsibility lay with her and her team. No excuses.
Couldn’t agree with you more, Amy Bee.
