US Open—New York, New York
Canadian veteran Peter Polansky made his fourth straight Grand Slam this season via a lucky loser position. The 30-year-old lost earlier today to American Donald Young in three sets during the last round of qualifying but later received notice that he would enter the final Major of 2018 as a lucky loser (the first player ever to do so).
Polansky had previously lost in the last round of qualifying of the other three Majors to: Australian Open: Yuki Bhambri; French Open: Jozef Kovalik; Wimbledon: Jason Kubler.
The current world No. 120 stands with a 3-9 record on the season and will face No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev in the first round.
