Over in the United Kingdom, talk among tennis fans centres firmly around Emma Raducanu and that’s no great surprise. Her stunning win at the US Open delivered Britain’s first women’s Grand Slam title for 44 years at a time when followers felt that they would have to wait for at least another 44 before a champion appeared on the horizon.

Raducanu’s win came from nowhere and the expectation to repeat that performance may just be weighing a little heavily on her young shoulders. Celebrity appearances and sizeable endorsements have raised her profile but she now needs to refocus on her tennis career.

At the same time, another British player has been rising through the ranks without as much fanfare. Cameron Norrie has just won a significant ATP Tour title and is tipped for a big future but, in the UK, the media have barely noticed.

Keeping Quiet

Considering the predictable media attention, Cameron Norrie may well be relieved to see Emma Raducanu in the ascendancy. It leaves him to go quietly about his business as he aims to achieve his personal targets moving forward.

This first of those goals is to appear in the season ending ATP finals but those hopes appear to have been dashed by a third round elimination at the Paris Masters. In reality, qualification was a fairly remote hope for the 26-year-old who has represented Great Britain since 2013.

Irrespective of whether he makes the final cut, this has still been a breakthrough season for Norrie who claimed the Indian Wells title in October. In becoming the first player from the UK to win this event, he also climbed to number one in the British men’s ranking.

There’s more to come from the player whose target beyond this year is to consolidate that success in 2022.

On Cam’s Radar

With hope of making the ATP Finals starting to fade, Cameron Norrie will be looking ahead to the Australian Open at the start of next year. It’s traditionally been the first Grand Slam of the new season and one where the world’s best will be in attendance subject to the usual injury issues.

Norrie will want to go deep into the men’s singles competition even if he isn’t actually expected to win it. The best betting sites online have supplied odds to sbo.net and they are showing Novak Djokovic to win the men’s singles title in Australia. Daniil Medvedev is next followed by Alexander Zverev and Rafael Nadal.

If we move far enough down the list, we find Cameron Norrie among the outside bets. There’s still some tennis to be played before the start of the Australian Open and those markets have scope to change. Sbo.net’s recommended sportsbooks will update their odds while readers can also visit the site to take in news and opinion from around the tennis world.

With all of that information at their disposal, visitors also have the opportunity to get involved with those betting markets. Each of the sports betting companies mentioned on the site are set to accept new customers and there are welcome packages in place for those who want to sign up.

Moving forward, there is a choice of deposit methods with which to get off and running and many operators have ongoing promotions for existing customers. It’s a full package for tennis betting enthusiasts but should Cameron Norrie get their attention in 2022?

How Far can Norrie go?

There’s a collective excitement about Cameron Norrie and a genuine belief that he could be a Grand Slam winner in the future. At 26, he is set to peak in the coming years and it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that he would win one of the ‘big four’ in the future.

For 2022, the focus has to be on climbing the world rankings and targeting at least one more ATP Tour title. A place in the ATP finals at the end of next year would also help to cement his position as a genuine contender moving forward. The future certainly looks promising for Cameron Norrie and he should be grateful that he can concentrate on his tennis while others are grabbing the media spotlight.
