Davis Cup Finals – Group Stage
Inform American Brandan Nakashima propelled the United States into the Davis Cup Final in Malaga, Spain later this year after he defeated Jozef Kovalik 6-3, 6-3.
Nakashima, who is currently ranked No. 40 in the world, improved to 22-16 after his victory.
The 23-year-old recently made the fourth round of the US Open.
Nakashima’s countryman Mackenzie McDonald also scored a convincing 6-4, 6-3 victory over Lukas Klein earlier in the day.
Team Germany also advanced to the Davis Cup with 3-0 victory over Chile on Thursday.
Still to come on Friday, Carlos Alcaraz will lead Team Spain against France and Matteo Berrettini will lead Team Italy against Belgium.
