Rolex Shanghai Masters—Shanghai, China
World No. 4 Daniil Medvedev continued his red-hot form on Tour on Sunday in Shanghai, China, dismissing Alexander Zverev 6-4, 6-1. Needing only one hour and 13 minutes to claim his crown, Medvedev won 85 percent of his first serve points, while striking four aces.
Never defeating Zverev in four previous meetings on Tour, Medvedev now holds four titles in 2019. The Russian recently won the title in St. Peterburg, Russia, before winning his first Masters 1000 event in Cincinnati, Ohio. The 23-year-old also made the finals of the Canadian Open, and lost an epic five set match to Rafael Nadal during the US Open final.
Medvedev currently stands at No. 3 in the world in the race to London finale.
Zverev, who was looking for his second title of the year and 12th overall, defeated Roger Federer in the quarterfinals.
