Lorenzi, Shang Reach Chengdu Semifinals; Cilic Advances in Hangzhou
Top seed Lorenzo Musetti was taken to three sets during his quarterfinal match at the Chengdu Open on Sunday, defeating No. 5 seed Adrian Mannarino 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 in two hours and 17 minutes.
Hitting eight aces, winning 77 percent of his first serve points and breaking serve on four occasions, Musetti will next face Alibek Kachmazov for a place in the finals.
Kachmazov defeated No. 3 seed Nicolas Jarry 6-3, 6-4. Kachmazov, who is 22-years-old, is currently ranked No. 252 in the world.
Elsewhere, home-country favourite Juncheng Shang continued to dazzle the fans by dismissing No. 2 seed Alexander Bublik 6-4, 7-6(8). Shang will next face Yannik Hanfmann from Germany. Hanfmann dispatched No. 4 seed Pedro Martinez 7-6(1), 6-2.

Hangzhou Open—China
Former US Open champion Marin Cilic continued his dream return to the Tour on Sunday, defeating Yasutaka Uchiyama 6-2, 6-7(4), 7-6(5) to reach the semifinals.
Slamming 19 aces, hitting 40 winners and breaking serve on three occasions, Cilic will next face No. 4 seed Brandan Nakashima for a place in the finals.
Nakashima dismissed Rinky Hijikata 7-5, 6-3 earlier in the day. The inform American improved to 26-13 on the season.
Elsewhere, No. 6 seed Zhizhen Zhang defeated Roberto Carballes Baena 6-3, 6-3, and Yunchaokete Bu continued his dream run by dismissing Mikhail Kukushkin 6-4, 6-2.
Bu’s victory will ensure a Chinese finalist on Tuesday as he will face countryman Zhang. Bu ousted No. 2 seed Karen Khachanov earlier in the tournament.
