Krejcikova Wins 2024 Wimbledon Title Over Paolini
Czech star Barbora Krejcikova claimed her second Major title on Saturday at Wimbledon, defeating Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
Needing one hour and 56 minutes to win her crown, Krejcikova dominated the encounter by using her all court game to great effect.
Hitting 28 winners and breaking serve on three occasions, Krejcikova won 74 percent of her first serve points.
Krejcikova, 28, captured her first Major at the French Open in 2021. During The Championships, she defeated former winner Elena Rybakina in the semifinals, Jelena Ostapenko in the quarterfinals and Danielle Collins in the fourth round.
Krejcikova will move up to No. 10 in the world on Monday.
Paolini, who has had life-changing year on Tour, reached the finals of the French Open last month, losing to world No. 1 Iga Swiatek.
The 28-year-old will move up to a career high of No. 5 in the world on Monday. Paolini defeated Bianca Andresscu, Madison Keys, Emma Navarro and Donna Vekic en-route to the finals.

Men’s Final Preview: Novak Djokovic vs. Carlos Alcaraz
Sunday’s men’s final will feature a rematch of the 2023 Championship match. World No. 2 and 24-time Major winner Novak Djokovic will face defending champion Carlos Alcaraz.
Leading the Spaniard 3-2 in career head-to-head matches, Djokovic entered the event with many question marks circling the health of his knee. Withdrawing from last month’s French Open, Djokovic underwent knee survey during the event and returned to the Tour in time for the year’s third Major.
Djokovic has had a favourable draw entering the final, and will need to be at his best when facing his younger opponent.
Alcaraz, who recently won the French Open last month, defeated No. 5 seed Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals. The 21-year-old owns three Major titles and has never lost in a championship match.
Djokovic and Alcaraz played in five, thrilling sets during last year’s championship match.
